The in the year 1929 awarded coat-of-arms of the community Breyell depicts the parish patron saint St. Lambertus.

The old church tower (photo below) on the Breyeller Lambertimarkt is the village's oldest construction. It is the urbanistic centre of the village. The style puts the time of the tower construction between 1350 and 1400.

The old church was kept until 1907 and pulled down, the tower was left standing. In the year 1924 the then provincial curator counted the tower as one of the most interesting and best artistically along the Lower Rhine. There where once the old Catholic church stood is the Lambertimarkt today.
